Hey gang!

Long time no speak...sorry, I've been busy as all hell! Just got back from a much-needed vacation camping downstate in Saugatuck. The weather was perfect - 80s in the daytime and 60s at night. Lots of hanging out by the pool, laughing with friends, and wandering the campgrounds wearing nothing but denim cutoffs or a sarong. I wish I could go there at least once or twice a month...it would do wonders for my nerves!

Have some news to report on the music front. First off, Project Vector is going to remain my solo...uhm...project. It became apparent that the Chadster just has too many irons in the fire to have time for this. It's understandable - he has three kids and is involved in a lot of activities to boot. I still love the guy to death and certainly won't rule out the possibility of collaborating with him in a more limited fashion sometime down the road.

The other news is that I've just released the first Project Vector VIDEO, "Out of the Closet". Yep, you heard it right. In the midst of working on new material, I found myself thinking that I really should have done a video for at least one song from Reality Show. So...better late than never, right?

I didn't have the time or budget to be making elaborate sets or doing a bunch of on-location stuff, so instead I made it into more of a tongue-in-cheek performance-oriented vid, using compositing and other digital video effects to make things more interesting. This is my first attempt at making a music vid and I'm basically a dabbling amateur, but I had some fun doing it and I don't think the end result is that bad for a first try, really. There's a little bit of suggestive imagery in there (the song pretty much demands it), but nothing R-rated, so you don't have to be afraid to watch it at work or in mixed company (unless watching videos at work period is apt to get you fired, of course!).

For me, it was kind of fun (and surreal) seeing myself playing and singing on my computer screen as it came together. We live in an age where music is also a visual experience, not just an aural one, so I fully intend to continue making videos and exploring that side of things in the future.

So anyway, hope you enjoy the video. Take care, stay out of trouble, and I'll be talking to ya soon... ;-)))

Heya Dave,

The video is wonderful-very nicely done. Nice composition and use of images. Very impressive for a first try-but it's obvious you have some understanding of design, as is apparent from the wonderful album art on Reality Show.

Oh-and to other visitors here...RUN-Do NOT walk-RUN-and get yourself a copy of Reality Show!! It blew me away. I've had friends listen to it, and THEY were blown away.

To quote my writer friend Marge Hunt: "The well-known aren't always talented and the talented aren't always well-known." Dave's one talented fellow, and one who's music you certainly DO NOT want to miss out on. And once you do hear his music, you'll want to spread the word-fast.

So-what the heck are ya waiting for?? Go out and get Reality Show!!
